The Dukes Pantry is a delightful Licensed Tea room integrated in the ancient Kielder Castle built in 1775 as a hunting lodge for the Duke of Northumberland. The tearoom is small, cozy, friendly and family managed with local staff that serve homemade food. Kielder Castle also houses the Forestry Commissions Visitor Centre, exhibition ,gift shop and gallery.
Situated very close to the Scottish Border Kielder is the remotest village in England and is a haven for the outdoor lovers. Miles of forest that surrounds a picturesque man made lake, with many mountain bike trails, walks and art projects to visit.
We welcome walkers, mountain-bikers, motor-cycles and all outdoor lovers, and on request, we can organise packed lunches. The venue has a welcoming picnic area and facilities in the Castle Courtyard. Dogs are welcome on leads. There is excellent access for disabled visitors.
For larger group reservations, for example weddings, functions and organised coach parties, additional rooms are available in Kielder Castle - a venue that will create memories for years to come.
